Excelior CEO issues Cyclismo Challenge

The 24 members of Team Excelior will be riding for an even greater challenge as they take part in this week’s Cyclismo Gran Fondo, as CEO John Watkinson has offered a $100 donation to the Bendigo charity of choice for the team member he decides tried the hardest.

“I’ve been amazed by the level of excitement and enthusiasm Cyclismo, and particularly the Gran Fondo,  has generated amongst the Excelior Bendigo contact centre staff and our fellow team members from the REACH Foundation and parent company SKILLED Group,” said John Watkinson.

“As a result, I’ve decided to award a CEO’s challenge prize, but one with a difference. Whoever is selected as having tried the hardest amongst our team will be given $100 to donate to the local Bendigo charity of their choice.

“We have riders in our team who have next to no experience, and others who own cycles worth more than a small car, so the criteria I’ve set has to be broad. It’s about effort, quality and caring – not being fastest or best dressed!

“Personally, I love cycling and hope we can encourage as many members of the community to take it up as a very healthy and environmentally sound form of transportation.

“Given that so many of us have sedentary lifestyles, including people working in our contact centres, I hope the fun and joy of Cyclismo will have a huge impact on Bendigo and the surrounding community – and given the cost of fuel, it will certainly have an impact on family budgets,” John said.

Excelior employs more than 250 staff at its Mollison Street Bendigo contact centre, and also operates similar centres in Burnie, Tasmania, and Robina, Queensland and in Melbourne.
